Hello world!

It’s time to start using a blogging system that makes more sense than MSN’s funky service. Alghough I did appreciate being able to post so many photos, it really was a mess for my readers to navigate. I have heard great things about wordpress.com, so I am giving it a try and it seems great so far. It will also allow my friends and contacts in China to follow along (sorry to blogger.com blogs).

Although this blog will still share my experiences for those who know me to enjoy, I will also focus on issues facing China. The topics may be cultural, political, business-oriented, or anything that seems relevant.

I value everyone’s feedback and hope we can build a community that focuses on real and meaninful discussions. I value authenticity, candid talk, and a variety of opinions. Not everyone will love what I have to say, and I may not love what you have to say, but I will value your opinions and make sure they are published.

I look forward to the community this new project will create and hope it will benefit anyone wanting to understand China and how to engage with China in a constructive and profitable way (whatever type of profit you may be looking for).

Cheers (干杯)

About Global China Blog - Biz, Culture, and Life

I am a lover of China. I graduated from the University of Hawaii's China International MBA in 2010. At BYU, my undergraduate degree in history focused on modern US and Asian history. I am an expert negotiator and recently negotiated a multimillion dollar contract with the LPGA and IMG to bring the first ladies professional golf tournament to Mainland China since its first tournament in 2008. While in Utah, I helped an online marketing start-up company grow from 20 employees to over 120 employees as Director of Operations and later VP of Sales and Marketing. Whether its China, strategy, or sales, I love being with people and helping them see their own unique offering and how to align themselves accordingly.
